Questions bands ask before they switch
Will AI-separated stems sound good enough on stage?
For most live use, yes. Separation is cleanest on well-mixed recordings, and drums, bass and vocals come out best. Try it on the demo song and on two of your own songs with the free plan before you decide.
Can I use stems I already own?
Yes. Upload your own multitracks or stems directly. Only AI separation uses a Split — your own stems never do.
Do my bandmates need to pay or install anything?
They create a free account, open the setlist you shared, and play. On phones and tablets they can install the app or use the browser. They pay nothing.
What happens to shared setlists if I cancel?
Your library stays yours on the free plan. Sharing is a Teams feature, so shared setlists stop being playable for bandmates at the end of your billing period until you resubscribe.
What is a Split?
A Split uses AI to separate a mixed audio file into individual stems (vocals, drums, bass, etc.). Each upload that triggers stem separation counts as one Split.
Is there a free trial or a refund?
Teams comes with a 14-day free trial, once per account, with your card on file and nothing charged until the trial ends. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal and keep access until the end of the period. Payments already made are not refunded except where the law requires it.
Does stems.pro work offline?
Yes. Once stems are downloaded, you can play them without an internet connection on any platform — web, desktop, or mobile.
Does it run on iPad, Android and desktop?
Yes. Any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone or iPad, plus desktop apps for Mac and Windows. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon to the App Store. Your library and setlists are the same everywhere; downloads are per device.
Will my MIDI pedal or controller work?
Yes. Map pedals and controllers to play, fade, next song, section jumps and loops in Settings → MIDI. It works in the Mac and Windows apps, and in Chrome or Edge on any computer or Android device. Safari, Firefox, iPhone and iPad do not support MIDI yet.
